Ethereum Price Target: Realistic Considerations between $10,000 and $3,000
Reaching the $10,000 target for Ethereum price has long been one of the much-discussed optimistic scenarios in the cryptocurrency market. Don Alt, a trader known for his successful prediction of XRP prices, theoretically admitted that Ethereum could rise to $10,000. However, in his trading plan, he considered taking profits at an earlier price of $3,000.
What key price points do DonAlt pay attention to for Ethereum?
DonAlt announced on August 13 that he had opened a long position when the Ethereum price was around US$1,900. The analyst also admitted that buying resistance to assets during the sideways consolidation process does not conform to the logic of classic technical analysis. Still, DonAlt said he was more comfortable with holding positions than short positions and attributed the choice to psychological factors. He added that he was prepared to expand existing positions if Ethereum prices retreated to support areas around $1,700.
This strategy highlights an important point in market analysis: DonAlt would rather hold a position in the market than wait for the ideal entry point, and plans to add a position at a lower price during the pullback.
Why is $3,000 so important to Ethereum?
DonAlt's expectations for Ethereum are divided into three different price levels. The analyst's formal target is $4,000, while in the broader macro scenario, the informal target points to $10,000. However, in his personal investment plan, when the Ethereum price reaches $3,000, he considers unwinding. So while he theoretically supports the possibility of a $10,000 rally, he tends to take profits earlier in his own trades.
Based on an entry price of approximately US$1,900, a target of US$3,000 means a gain of approximately 57%. DonAlt's strategy reflects caution about potential risks-that is, avoiding giving back realized profits by expecting higher goals.
How does XRP's historical experience affect Ethereum predictions?
Behind DonAlt's strategy for Ethereum also includes his experience in the XRP market. The analyst had predicted that XRP would rise from US$0.50 to US$3.50 before the 2024-2025 rally, which attracted widespread attention. This prediction is one of his most famous deals. However, DonAlt set a top target for XRP at the time of $6.90, and XRP turned downward before reaching that level.
This experience became an important example of earlier profit-taking in his current Ethereum strategy. The failure to achieve high goals in the past suggests a difference between theoretical potential and actual actionable trading goals.
What will happen if Ethereum reaches $10,000?
DonAlt's assessment shows that the $10,000 Ethereum target is not a definite price forecast. He sees this level as a possible scenario at the long-term macro level, while locking his trading decisions at $3,000. The core difference here is that market expectations and personal investment strategies do not have to be the same. A trader may think an asset can rise higher, but still choose to close its position early for risk management reasons.
Whether Ethereum will test US$4,000 or even US$10,000 in the future will be determined by price movements, market conditions and investor needs.
