BitMine's weekly repurchase fell to 1.7 million shares, and the ETH treasury reached 5.82 million.
BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) repurchased 1.7 million shares of common shares in the week ended August 16. This is the smallest weekly repurchase size since the repurchase program was launched on July 1, and it is also the third consecutive week of decline. At the same time, the company's Ethereum (ETH) treasury reserves grew to 5,815,164 tokens.
Although BitMine added 9,926 ETH units during this period, total cryptocurrency, cash and "high-risk assets" holdings fell to US$11.4 billion, down from US$11.6 billion a week ago. The company priced its ETH holdings at $1,893 each on August 16, compared with $1,928 a week ago. According to reports, BitMine purchased a batch of 7,391 ETH last week, bringing the treasury reserve to exceed 5.8 million tokens.
Thomas "Tom" Lee, chairman of BitMine, said: "We are very happy to see the ETH/BTC ratio rise to 0.02994 and continues to rise." He linked this trend to tokenization and agent-based artificial intelligence (agent-AI) applications.
Repo size slowed for the third consecutive week.
BitMine's holdings account for 4.8% of the total ETH supply (120.7 million units), 96% of its stated target of 5%. Lee said that since the launch of the treasury strategy on June 30, 2025, the company has been purchasing ETH every week.
Since July 1, BitMine has repurchased 20.8 million ordinary shares under the US$4 billion authorization line. The weekly repurchase volume shown in its disclosure documents peaked at 6.1 million shares in the week ended July 26, and then fell to 4.5 million shares, 3 million shares, and 1.7 million shares. In all three disclosures, Lee said the stock was undervalued or attractive and described the plan as the largest repurchase of any cryptocurrency digital asset treasury ever executed.
Back in July, BitMine cut its weekly ETH purchases from more than 30,500 to 7,430, and Lee attributed the slowdown to a shift in funds towards stock buybacks.
Cash fell to US$78 million
As of August 16, the company's total cash and marketable securities was US$78 million. Since BitMine reported US$527 million on June 28, this figure has been disclosed weekly, passing through US$482 million, US$385 million, US$268 million, US$173 million and US$104 million.
In addition to ETH, the company also holds 210 bitcoins (BTC), as well as $180 million worth of equity in Beast Industries and $73 million worth of equity in Eightco Holdings (ORBS).
On August 14, BitMine's board of directors announced 17 weekly cash dividends on its 9.50% Series A perpetual preferred shares, mostly US$0.1847 per share, with payment periods from September 4 to December 28. The security is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol BMNP and has a face value of $100.
