The U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF recorded a net inflow of US$189.3 million on August 19, pushing the total net inflow in August to approximately US$951 million. Data from SoValue. The net inflow on the previous day (August 18) was US$297.6 million, and the total net inflow on the two days reached US$487 million. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust led the inflow of funds on August 19, with a net increase of US$143.6 million. Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund increased by $23.9 million. The cumulative net inflow of the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF has reached approximately US$52.28 billion, with total net assets of approximately US$79.3 billion. This continuous net inflow reversed the net outflow of three consecutive trading days from August 12 to 14, when these funds had a total outflow of approximately US$250 million.

Treasury bond repurchase pushed Bitcoin up 6%, triggering short liquidation of US$1.4 billion.

On August 19, the price of Bitcoin exceeded US$68000 in early trading in the United States, after U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besent announced that the size of the long-term treasury bond repurchase operation would be doubled. Investors see this as potential support for liquidity in the $30 trillion treasury bond market. Within four hours of the rally starting, about $1.4 billion of short positions were liquidated and traders closed their short positions. Gold also rose simultaneously, rising 2.7% to US$4528 an ounce, the highest level since early June. Ethereum and several altcoins outperformed Bitcoin in this round of gains. Ethereum rose 8.44% to $2084, the highest since May 27, and Solana rose 7% to $82. Open interest on the Ethereum trading pair surged from $11.7 billion to $13 billion before falling back to $12.5 billion, reflecting a wave of leveraged long positions before short liquidations. Crypto stocks also rose, with Bullish rising nearly 13%, and Coinbase rising 11%.

This consecutive net inflow ended three consecutive trading days of net outflows from August 12 to 14, when these funds had a total outflow of approximately US$250 million. The spot Ethereum ETF had a net inflow of US$71.5 million on August 19, bringing the product's total net inflow in August to approximately US$345 million.
