Bitcoin, Ethereum and the entire cryptocurrency market are experiencing significant gains. BTC has exceeded US$79,000, while ETH stands at US$2,400.

As market bullish sentiment continues, former BitMEX CEO and closely watched Arthur Hayes made his latest remarks on BTC and ETH.

In an interview with cryptocurrency journalist Laura Shin, Hayes revealed that apart from Bitcoin, the largest asset in his portfolio is Ethereum.

Hayes pointed out that although Ethereum ranks second by market value, it has not yet exceeded its peak in 2021. He also said that compared with other cryptocurrencies, Ethereum is less risky and therefore more suitable for large-scale investments.

"... Currently, Ethereum accounts for the largest proportion of my portfolio, excluding Bitcoin. Compared to other cryptocurrencies, the risk of Ethereum zeroing in value is much lower. I put a significant amount of my money into it because it is attractive in terms of expected return and risk ratios."

Hayes believes that Ethereum's weak performance in the recent bull market cycle has left it with greater room for recovery. He said that if ETH breaks through the $3,000 mark, its rally may accelerate and quickly climb above $5,000.

"... As Ethereum's gain in this cycle is relatively limited, there is still much room for further upside."

It's more reasonable to pay attention to Bitcoin ETFs!

When talking about Bitcoin, Hayes also said that investors who want to invest in BTC through the exchange would be better off buying spot ETFs directly rather than shares of Strategy (MSTR).

Hayes pointed out that strategy companies were legitimate when markets were worried that BTC could fall to $20,000, but their importance has diminished as liquidity expands and the economic environment relaxes.

Hayes believes that if investors want to invest in BTC through the exchange, they can completely buy BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF IBIT or other ETFs, and there is no reason to buy shares of Strategy Company.
