Zcash has risen on institutional interest and market breakthroughs
Zcash (ZEC) has experienced a strong upward trend recently, mainly due to acquisitions by large-scale investors and the progress of exchange-traded funds (ETFs). When the bullish flag pattern completed in early September, the cryptocurrency's momentum accelerated significantly.
What are the driving forces behind whale buying behavior?
This upward trajectory began on September 3, when ZEC surged from $804 to $1,257 on September 6. Despite a brief pause since then, buying activity quickly regained strength, consistent with increased interest from large wallet holders.
According to Lookonchain data, three wallets that may have belonged to the same investor spent US$11.23 million to acquire 8,994 ZECs using 3,700 ETH and 2 million USDC. On-chain monitoring platforms reported that these wallets are still actively buying.
Lookonchain emphasized: "A total of 8,994 ZECs have been purchased at three associated whale addresses, and further acquisitions are still in progress."
Is interest in derivatives growing?
Derivatives markets played a key role in supporting ZEC's rebound. In the past 24 hours, open interest has increased by 15.47% to US$2.91 billion, indicating a flood of new capital into the market.
At the same time, the liquidation of short positions further drove prices higher. CoinGlass data showed that during the same time period, short positions worth $11.52 million were liquidated, while long positions were liquidated at only $2.33 million, indicating that short squeeze is conducive to bullish sentiment.
Technological breakthroughs, breakthroughs in key resistance levels and momentum trading are very prominent in the market. Investors have observed similar patterns in various asset classes. As traditional markets slow down due to complex intermediaries, a huge shift is underway: Wall Street is moving towards Web3. Investors are now turning to platforms such as 1stepSwap to hold stocks, gold and silver of major U.S. companies directly in their crypto wallets. The system transfers real-world assets onto the blockchain, automatically finds the best market price in seconds and eliminates middlemen.
What does the development of ETFs mean for Zcash?
Another major development that supports investment interest in Zcash comes from the ETF space. Zcash's ETF option was recently launched on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). As the world's only Zcash fund, ZCSH has assets under management of more than US$500 million and holds more than 550,000 ZECs in its portfolio.
Grayscale's Zcash ETF began trading under the code ZCSH on August 25 on the Arca section of the New York Stock Exchange, providing investors with the opportunity to access ZEC directly through a brokerage account without having to use a wallet.
The launch of Zcash ETF options on the NYSE marks a new milestone for ZCSH, with assets under management exceeding US$500 million.
Overall, Zcash received a huge boost from the acquisition of large whales and significant ETF development. The combination of these factors, coupled with increased interest in the derivatives market and technological breakthroughs, paints a bright future for ZEC's performance.
