BlackRock's cryptocurrency ETF has a net inflow of US$343.4 million in five trading days
The cryptocurrency ETF owned by BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, recorded strong inflows in five trading days, and investor demand for both Bitcoin and Ethereum products has increased. Its three major funds-IBIT, ETHA and ETHB-had combined net inflows of $343.4 million between July 13 and July 17.
IBIT reversed early outflows and strong demand
At the beginning of the cycle, the iShares Bitcoin Trust Fund (IBIT) suffered a large redemption of $185.5 million on July 13. This outflow resulted in a total net outflow of US$424.7 million from all spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States that day. However, the situation reversed in the following four trading days and funds flowed back into IBIT. According to Farside Investors, the fund received $138.9 million in inflows on July 14,$80.8 million on July 15, another $33.4 million on July 16, and $136.5 million on July 17. During the rest of the trading week, IBIT attracted a cumulative total inflow of $389.6 million, offsetting previous losses and achieving a net inflow of $204.1 million at the end of five trading days.
It should be noted that these numbers reflect the amount of money investors have in and out of ETFs by creating or redeeming shares, rather than directly purchasing assets. The trust fund will then adjust the amount of Bitcoin it holds based on demand to provide corresponding liquidity. This trend was also confirmed in other parts of the market, with most U.S. -listed Bitcoin ETFs reporting net inflows over the following four trading days after the initial large redemptions.
Net inflows by funds (July 13 - 17): IBIT was US$204.1 million, ETHA plus ETHB was US$139.3 million, totaling US$343.4 million.
Ethereum ETF inflows led by ETHA
BlackRock's Ethereum funds have further enhanced its digital asset ETF business. ETHA, which aims to track spot Ethereum prices, received $58.3 million in inflows on July 14 and $45.3 million on July 15. ETHB, which allows brokerage clients to gain exposure to Ethereum prices through pledge rewards, poured in $4 million on July 15. On July 17, ETHA received another $31.7 million, bringing its total inflow over five trading days to $135.3 million. Taken together, ETHA and ETHB added a total of US$139.3 million during the period, with most of the new funds flowing into ETHA on the last trading day. The total inflow of ETHA since its inception now reaches approximately US$11.3 billion.
(Note: ETHA and ETHB are BlackRock's Ethereum ETFs-ETHA tracks the spot price of Ethereum and obtains exposure without managing a wallet; ETHB provides exposure to Ethereum through a brokerage account and the proceeds generated by pledge rewards.)
On July 17, BlackRock's ETHA's inflow of US$31.7 million accounted for the vast majority of the total inflow of all U.S. Ethereum ETFs (US$36.7 million) that day.
BlackRock Asset Growth and Expansion of Cryptocurrency Role
The inflow of cryptocurrency ETFs coincides with a record high of US$15.3 trillion in assets managed by BlackRock. In the second quarter alone, the company raised $192 billion in net new assets, with total inflows reaching $321 billion in the first half of 2026. The iShares division, an important part of BlackRock's ETF business, added $178 billion in new inflows during the quarter. Over the past 12 months, BlackRock's total net investment reached US$868 billion. Although digital asset ETFs account for only a small portion of their overall portfolio, these products are showing steady growth amid renewed investor demand for regulated cryptocurrency exposure.
