TEDA Gold is recognized by Abu Dhabi Global Market, and United Arab Emirates expands regulated tokenized gold market
Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) has recognized TEDA Gold (XAUT) as an acceptable spot commodity, allowing authorized companies to provide regulated services related to XAUT in various markets. Each XAUT token represents an ounce of physical gold, while the Ethereum and Wave Field blockchain support secure transactions and blockchain-based ownership transfers around the world. This approval expands TEDA's regulated presence in the United Arab Emirates, strengthens institutional access to tokenized gold, and promotes wider adoption of real-world assets in the financial sector.
It is reported that TEDA's influence in United Arab Emirates has further increased. ADGM has designated TEDA Gold (XAUT) as an acceptable spot commodity, a decision that allows authorized companies operating within the financial center to provide regulated services related to this gold-backed digital asset.
This approval reflects ADGM's growing support for regulated digital assets and tokenized real-world investments, while also expanding the range of compliance products available to institutional and professional investors in financial centers.
XAUT grants the holder the right to one troy ounce of physical gold per token. In addition, the gold bars supporting each token are mainly stored in Swiss safe vaults, allowing investors to gain direct exposure to physical gold through blockchain technology.
The token can be used on Ethereum and the wavefield blockchain, allowing investors to purchase, transfer and trade tokenized gold while retaining ownership rights associated with London Qualified Delivery Gold Bars.
Approval to consolidate TEDA's position in the regulated digital asset space
Prior to its recognition, TEDA worked closely with ADGM to demonstrate its compliance standards and operational transparency. This process established a formal regulatory framework for XAUT within the financial center. In addition, licensed companies operating at ADGM can now integrate TEDA Gold into regulated financial products and services, providing greater certainty for institutions seeking tokenized commodity exposure in an established regulatory environment.
TEDA stated that each XAUT token is still backed by physical gold on a one-to-one basis. Each token represents one troy ounce from London qualifying delivery gold bars, retaining direct ownership of the underlying asset. In addition to strengthening XAUT's regulatory status, this approval also builds on ADGM's previous recognition of the USDT. This latest development broadens TEDA's regulated presence in the country as the United Arab Emirates expands its digital asset ecosystem.
Currently, XAUT's market value is close to US$2.5 billion, making it one of the largest tokenized gold products on the market. Institutions 'growing interest in tokenization of real-world assets is also driving demand for blockchain investment products backed by traditional assets.
Conclusion
ADGM's recognition provides TEDA Gold with a regulated framework in one of the leading financial centers in the Middle East, while strengthening United Arab Emirates support for compliant digital asset products. TEDA also said it will work with regulators and industry participants in the region to support the development of regulated digital asset markets.
