1inch Added syrupUSDC and syrupUSDT tokens that support Maple

Maple integrates with 1inch to really "move" stablecoins

Most people who hold USDC or USDT just let them lie quietly in their wallets. Maple wants to change the use of stablecoins-now, thanks to a new integration with 1inch, trading its tokens is easier.

Maple's syrupUSDC and syrupUSDT tokens are now available at 1inch. 1inch is a decentralized trading platform that scans liquidity on multiple blockchains to help users exchange assets at the optimal price, while users always keep their own funds. In this scenario, 1inch is responsible for routing and redemption of Maple tokens, while Maple continues to manage underlying lending activities.

What is Maple doing?

Maple is an online lending platform for institutions. Trading institutions borrow stablecoins from Maple by pledging crypto assets such as Bitcoin or Ethereum as collateral (the value of the collateral is much higher than the amount borrowed). After the lender deposits into USDC or USDT, it will receive corresponding tokens representing its position.

This is the origin of syrupUSDC and syrupUSDT. If you deposit USDC in Maple, you will receive syrupUSDC; if you deposit USDT, you will receive syrupUSDT. Unlike ordinary stablecoins that only passively hold the value of the dollar, these tokens represent stablecoins that have been put into use through the Maple lending system-meaning that their value will grow over time while also bearing the same risks as any lending strategy.

Tokenized Credit: Making Liquidity Really Flow

Tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) are often reminiscent of tokenized stocks or bonds. But credit is also a real-world asset, and tokenizing it can solve a practical problem. In traditional finance, credit positions are extremely difficult to transfer or connect to other financial systems.

Maple makes credit exposure portable by converting loan positions into tokens. It can be tracked, transferred and traded using wallets and redemption tools that people commonly use in DeFi. This does not eliminate the underlying risk-the lending market still depends on borrower quality, collateral management and overall market conditions-but it does make tokenized credit easier to actually use.

Role of 1inch

1inch is a decentralized transaction aggregator that does not hold its own liquidity pool, but scans multiple decentralized exchanges and liquidity sources on multiple blockchains to find the best price for users when redeeming crypto assets. It also offers self-managed wallets, portfolio trackers, and development tools (such as APIs) for building businesses based on its infrastructure. The core concept is that users always control funds, and 1inch is only responsible for finding the most efficient trading path, not holding the assets themselves.

Here, 1inch does not run Maple's lending business-Maple is still responsible for forging, redemption and managing loans. 1inch provides the infrastructure for efficient entry and exit of these tokens.

Currently, syrupUSDC already supports Ethereum, Arbitrum and Base networks, while syrupUSDT supports Ethereum and BNB Chain. Users can access these tokens through 1inch's Swap, Trade and Terminal products, and developers and institutional teams can integrate through the 1inch Business API.

For a token to be truly useful, it requires not only good design, but also liquidity. 1inch's routing technology searches for available liquidity and helps users get a better price when exchanging between stablecoins and Maple tokens, rather than just being satisfied with the first available path.
