Ripple has launched two major measures to promote institutions to adopt RLUSD stablecoins
Although online data shows that the monthly transfer volume of RLUSD has dropped by 26%, Ripple has adopted two new measures to increase its efforts to promote institutions to adopt its stablecoins. Although trading activity has slowed, the stablecoin continues to attract new users and expand to multiple blockchain networks.
Ripple uses the RLUSD casting platform and Notabene investment to target institutional customers
On July 23, Ripple launched a new platform Ripple Mint. The platform allows institutional customers to create, redeem, bridge and track RLUSD tokens through web dashboards or direct API integration. Previously, institutions needed to coordinate directly with Ripple to cast RLUSD after depositing US dollars. With Ripple Mint, the entire process is automated, allowing companies to issue and redeem tokens while tracking every transaction from fiat deposits to on-chain settlement.
While launching the platform, Ripple also announced a strategic investment in compliance platform Notabene. Notabene handles annualized transactions of more than $2 trillion. Through this integration, RLUSD has been integrated into Notabene's payment network, allowing financial institutions to more easily send and receive the stablecoin while meeting global compliance requirements.
RLUSD users have grown significantly, but trading activity has slowed down
Although Ripple continues to expand the application of RLUSD, online data shows that its trading activity has begun to slow down. Currently, the market value of RLUSD stablecoins is US$1.59 billion. Although it has dropped by nearly 5% in the past month, what is more noteworthy is that the monthly transfer volume has dropped by about 26%, from approximately US$14.6 billion to US$10.89 billion.
At the same time, online activity has improved in other aspects. The number of monthly active addresses of RLUSD jumped significantly by 68.2% to 11,167; the number of holders has also increased by approximately 6% in the past month.
The XRP ledger holds the largest supply share of RLUSD
On-chain data shows that RLUSD is currently distributed on two major blockchain networks, of which the XRP ledger continues to hold the largest supply share of the stablecoin. Currently, approximately US$896.5 million of RLUSD is held on XRP's ledger, while approximately US$641.9 million is held on Ethereum, highlighting XRPL's growing dominance in the circulation of the token.
In addition, Ripple is expanding RLUSD beyond these two ecosystems. The stablecoin is now available on XRPL EVM sidechain, Base, Optimism, Ink and Unichain, providing greater flexibility for institutions to issue, transfer and use RLUSD across multiple blockchain networks.
