Casey Wood's ARK Invest added approximately $251,500 to BitMine Immersion Technologies shares and 3iQ Solana Staking ETF shares to its three exchange-traded funds.

Overview

ARKK bought 5264 shares of BitMine stock, valued at approximately US$83,100 based on Friday's closing price of US$15.79.

ARKW and ARKF jointly increased their holdings of 28018 shares of SOLQ.U, with a total value of approximately US$168,400.

3iQ Solana Staking ETF fell 2.12% on Friday to close at $6.01.

ARK Invest increases BitMine exposure

ARK Invest's trading disclosure last Friday showed that its flagship fund ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) bought 5264 shares of BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) shares. Based on BMNR's closing price of US$15.79, the purchase is worth approximately US$83,100. This position accounts for approximately 0.0014% of ARKK's investment portfolio and is a small allocation within the fund, but it is also another increase in ARK's exposure to crypto-related investments.

BitMine has positioned itself as an Ethereum finance company, which makes ARK's buying behavior consistent with its broader investment in publicly traded companies related to digital assets. The deal is part of a broader adjustment by ARKK, which also includes an increase in X-Energy shares and a reduction in Figma shares. According to disclosures, ARK also sold shares in Strata Critical Medical, ATAI Life Sciences and Elbit Systems in multiple of its funds.

3iQ Solana Staking ETF receives US$168,000 allocation

ARK's ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW) and ARK Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF) also increased their holdings in the 3iQ Solana Staking ETF with the trading symbol SOLQ.U. ARKW bought 16917 shares, valued at approximately $101,700 based on Friday's closing price. ARKF increased its holdings of 11101 shares, valued at approximately $66,700. The two funds bought a total of 28018 shares of SOLQ.U, with a total value of approximately US$168,400. The purchase comes as the Solana-based investment product fell $0.13 (2.12%) on Friday to close at $6.01.

This move allows ARK to gain further exposure to Solana through a trading product that includes pledge-related exposure rather than directly purchasing SOL tokens.

ARK's crypto and artificial intelligence buying boom continues

Last Friday's trading followed a more active week for ARK Invest. The day before, ARK bought nearly US$60 million in shares of Tesla, Circle Internet Group and Securitize against the backdrop of an overall sell-off in the U.S. stock market. Tesla accounted for more than $51 million of that, according to the company's daily trading report. Earlier this week, ARK also increased its stake in SpaceX shares by approximately $14 million.

In addition to crypto-related positions, documents last Friday showed that ARK also added shares in Pony AI, Kodiak AI, Scribe Therapeutics and Compass Pathways. These transactions indicate that ARK is continuing to adjust its portfolio allocation in artificial intelligence, medical health and digital asset-related companies.

What it means for U.S. investors

ARK Invest's latest operation shows U.S. investors how the well-known themed ETF management company responds to crypto exposure. These purchases were small relative to ARK's overall asset size, but spread exposure into two different areas of the market: BitMine's Ethereum financial strategy and an ETF product focused on Solana pledges.

U.S. investors considering similar exposures should note that ARK purchases do not represent forecasts for these two assets. It simply suggests that the company continues to use public stocks and trading products to gain exposure to crypto-related topics, while also adjusting its positions in technology and artificial intelligence stocks.
