Bitcoin ETF ends positive momentum
Institutional interest is still closely watched
On July 24, the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF had a net outflow of US$240 million.
The net outflow of the spot Ethereum ETF was US$70.62 million, ending five consecutive days of capital inflows.
The two combined withdrew more than US$310 million in one trading day.
ETF fund flow remains a key indicator of institutions 'demand for digital assets.
According to SoSoValue, on July 24, institutional demand for cryptocurrencies weakened, with both U.S. spot bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds recording significant net outflows.
The net outflow of the spot Bitcoin ETF was US$240 million, while the net outflow of the spot Ethereum ETF was US$70.62 million, ending the net inflow of funds in Ethereum for five consecutive trading days. These divestments suggest that while Bitcoin and Ethereum continue to attract long-term interest, some institutional investors have chosen to reduce exposure after several days of steady buying.

Bitcoin ETF ends positive momentum
The latest outflow marks a pause in the previous improving trend of U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs. Earlier this week, the funds benefited from renewed institutional buying, which helped support Bitcoin's recovery, but Friday's divestment reversed some of the momentum. Analysts noted that recent inflows of funds had boosted market sentiment, but they also warned that Bitcoin's fundamentals remained sensitive to the macroeconomic situation and the Federal Reserve's upcoming policy decisions.
Although a single day's outflows do not necessarily indicate a lasting shift in investor sentiment, ETF flows are still one of the most closely watched indicators in the market because they can reveal the level of interest institutions in digital assets.
Ethereum's spot ETF also turned negative, with a net outflow of US$70.62 million, ending five consecutive days of capital inflows. The reversal comes after the Ethereum Fund recently showed signs of strengthening institutional demand. Despite the latest setback, market participants are still watching whether the Ethereum ETF can quickly return to positive territory, especially as investors are assessing the network's long-term growth prospects. ETF capital flows have increasingly become a barometer of institutions 'confidence in Ethereum, especially after the launch of the U.S. spot Ethereum ETF.
Institutional interest remains closely watched
The first half of this year was not the best time for Bitcoin ETFs. Despite recent outflows, both Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs have experienced periods of strong institutional engagement this year, consolidating their growing role in traditional financial markets.
Upcoming ETF flow data will determine whether July 24 is a brief pause in institutional buying or the beginning of a broader cooling in demand.
Currently, the latest SoSoValue data shows that institutional investors are becoming more cautious entering the weekend, with both Bitcoin and Ethereum investment products experiencing net withdrawals.
