Bitmine increased its holdings of Ethereum units to 5.79 million units, accounting for 4.8% of its total supply.
Bitmine Immersion Technologies announced that after purchasing nearly 10,000 ETH units in the past week, its total number of Ethereum units has reached 5.79 million units, accounting for approximately 4.8% of the entire Ethereum supply.
Ethereum Major Positions and Pledge Business
The company disclosed that approximately 4.9 million ETH (accounting for nearly 85% of its Ethereum positions) have been put into operation at verification nodes. Bitmine expects that once all of its Ethereum is deployed through pledge platforms and collaborative verification nodes, it will generate approximately US$299 million in pledge rewards every year.
As of July 26, Bitmine's total assets (including cryptocurrencies, cash and marketable securities) were US$11.8 billion. This huge Ethereum position highlights Bitmine's growing influence in the Ethereum ecosystem.
Small Dictionary: Verification node operation refers to the process in which an entity secures the blockchain network by pledging assets and receives rewards for verifying transactions or creating new blocks. In the Ethereum network, verification nodes play a key role in the transition to proof-of-stake consensus.
ETH has outperformed Bitcoin in recent week
According to CoinGecko data, Ethereum has outperformed Bitcoin in the past seven days. ETH rose 2.4% during this period, while Bitcoin fell about 0.7%.
ETH 7-day increase: +2.4%
BTC 7-day increase: -0.7%
Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee said the ETH/BTC ratio has reached a three-month high, indicating that Ethereum's momentum relative to Bitcoin is growing. He pointed out that the current high of the ratio suggests that Ethereum's market position is strengthening relative to Bitcoin.
Bitmine's Ethereum reserves surpass other companies
Bitmine has established the largest Ethereum reserve among corporate owners, second only to Strategy in terms of total digital asset value. Bitmine's accumulation strategy contrasts sharply with Strategy, which has stopped buying further bitcoins in recent weeks.
Diversified digital asset holding company Strategy revealed on Monday that it raised $544.5 million through a recent stock offering and repurchased $25 million of STRC preferred stock. Its U.S. dollar reserves increased to US$3.75 billion, while Bitcoin positions remained at 843,775 BTC.
Industry observers point out that these developments reflect the very different strategies adopted by two well-known listed companies with heavy positions in digital assets.
