Bitmine Immersion Technologies increased its holdings by 10,000 ETH, accounting for 4.8% of Ethereum's total supply.
Bitmine Immersion Technologies disclosed on Monday that it currently holds 5.79 million Ethereum, accounting for approximately 4.8% of the total supply of the cryptocurrency. In the past week, the company has increased its holdings by nearly 10,000 ETH, making it the largest ether reserve among listed companies after Strategy.
Pledge business and asset composition
Among the Ethereum held by Bitmine, approximately 4.9 million (approximately 85%) are pledged through its verification service. Bitmine estimates that once all ether is fully deployed on its own infrastructure and collaborative verification nodes, annualized pledge rewards can reach US$299 million.
As of July 26, Bitmine's total assets, including cryptocurrency positions, cash and marketable securities, reached US$11.8 billion. The company said that its pledge strategy can not only bring stable benefits, but also help maintain the security and stability of the Ethereum network.
Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee pointed out that the ETH/BTC price ratio has risen to a three-month high, indicating that ether's momentum is increasing compared to Bitcoin.
Market background and recent performance
Ethereum's recent rise makes it different from Bitcoin in the digital asset market. According to data compiled by CoinGecko, Ethereum has risen 2.4% in the past week, while Bitcoin has fallen 0.7%. This performance difference is also reflected in the strategic adjustments of leading companies in the industry.
Bitmine's expanding exposure to ether contrasts with listed company Strategy's recent suspension of Bitcoin purchases. Currently, Strategy remains the only listed company with more digital asset holdings than Bitmine.
Strategy's cash position and positions
On the same day Bitmine's announcement, Strategy reported raising $544.5 million through a new share offering. The company also bought back $25 million of STRC preferred stock and increased its U.S. dollar reserves to $3.75 billion, while continuing to hold 843,775 bitcoins.
The different strategies adopted by Bitmine and Strategy highlight the two institutions 'different views on the prospects of major digital assets, as they adjust their layouts based on market trends and revenue opportunities.
Many investors and companies are now paying close attention to the possibility of further increases in the price of Ethereum, especially as key indicators such as ETH/BTC ratio and pledge yields become increasingly important in financial strategy.
Bitmine stands out among listed companies due to its focus on pledge and asset growth. Its Ethereum reserves rank second in the world after Strategy.
As the market continues to evolve, major players seem to focus on both revenue opportunities and potential upside for leading crypto assets.
