Senior tech executives join fast-growing blockchain platform
Ripple hired Brian Beck as director of developer relations to include him in the RippleX ecosystem growth team. His core mission is to attract and support developers building on XRP Ledger (XRPL).
According to Beck's LinkedIn profile, he joined Ripple in August 2026. Prior to this, Beck worked at PayPal for more than eight years, holding multiple senior engineering positions, most recently as director of developer experience engineering. He manages more than 10 million active PayPal integration projects, and his team also modernizes developer documentation, onboarding systems, developer advocacy mechanisms, merchant sandbox tools, and APIs.
Before joining PayPal, Beck also worked at Google. The appointment gave Ripple an executive with experience at two of the world's most renowned technology companies.
Beck's scope of responsibility at Ripple
At Ripple, Beck is responsible for developer advocacy, technology empowerment, developer documentation, tool development, onboarding plans, sample code, hackathons, XRPL developer funding, developer collaboration, and building a feedback loop between developers and the RippleX product team.
As director of developer relations for the RippleX ecosystem growth team, he will organize and lead a team focused on helping developers identify opportunities, complete onboarding, build, and expand financial applications on XRP Ledger. The move aims to promote the adoption of multiple application scenarios including asset tokenization, institutional decentralized finance (DeFi) and next-generation payment infrastructure by enterprises, institutions and governments.
This recruitment is fully aligned with Ripple's broader 2026 strategy. Since 2021, RippleX's ecosystem work has covered hackathons, developer rewards, XRPL funding programs, and XRPL accelerators, supporting nearly 200 projects worldwide in areas involving developer infrastructure, payments, DeFi, tokenization, artificial intelligence, games and enterprise-level financial applications.
2026 marks a shift to a more distributed model, with independent organizations, regional hubs, venture capital partners and community-led initiatives playing a greater role in supporting developers. Beck's appointment shows that improving the developer experience and maintaining developer Retention rate are core elements in achieving this ambition.
