Moscow Exchange launches five major cryptocurrency perpetual contracts
As Russia's largest stock exchange, the Moscow Exchange is launching new perpetual futures contracts based on five major cryptocurrencies. According to an exchange announcement, contract trading tracking Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP and TRX indices will begin on September 22, 2026. Only qualified investors will have access to these new products.
Contract Details and Trading Mechanism
These contracts with the codes BTCUMDF, ETHUSDF, SOLUSDF, XRPUSDF and TRXUSDF will be based on the cryptocurrency index calculated by the Moscow Exchange. The product is designed as a futures contract that expires in one day and has an automatic daily extension system. This means that open positions can be automatically carried forward to the next day, without investors having to re-open new contracts every day.
Settlement method and asset nature
Contracts will be denominated in US dollars, but financial settlement will be conducted through Russian rubles. Investors will not receive Bitcoin, Ethereum or any other physical cryptocurrency as a result of transactions. Previously, the Moscow Exchange has launched futures contracts linked to Bitcoin and Ethereum, and now it has further expanded to contracts linked to the Solana, XRP and TRX indices. Through this new initiative, alternative contracts with no maturity dates are provided for these five assets.
