Interstice launches an unmanaged cross-chain switching engine to connect Canton networks with mainstream public chains
Interstice Digital has released an unmanaged cross-chain switching engine that aims to connect Canton networks with mainstream public chain ecosystems including Ethereum and Solana, and uses FalconX as its liquidity layer. The company said the engine is able to route token exchanges across all four networks without the need for Interstice to hold user assets or submit transactions on behalf of users.

Canton's recent activities highlight the push for tradable tokenized assets
The launch of a cross-chain exchange engine comes as traditional financial institutions increase their participation in tokenization and blockchain settlement on Canton.
In July this year, electronic trading platform Tradeweb executed an on-chain U.S. Treasury bond trade on Canton. In the deal, Franklin Templeton transferred a tokenized treasury bond security to Virtu Financial in exchange for tokenized cash. Tradeweb said this was the first real-time trading of tokenized U.S. Treasury bonds to be settled for USDCx, a USDC-backed stablecoin issued on Canton. Other participants include Societe Generale, Digital Asset and Blockdaemon. Previous reports have described the overall mechanism of this real-time trading process, including how Tradeweb performs transactions and discovers prices, while Canton simultaneously settles tokenized securities and tokenized cash components.
In addition to tokenized treasury bonds, Societe Generale has also deployed euro and dollar-denominated stablecoins on Canton for tokenized collateral, repo financing and institutional settlements. Other reports pointed out that Visa tested private stablecoin settlement on the network, reflecting the growing interest in the stablecoin privacy-protected settlement model.
Other initiatives related to Canton Ecology include the Japanese government bond collateral pilot involving Mizuho Bank and Nomura Securities, and the inclusion of its iBoxx U.S. Treasury bond index in Canton by the S & P Dow Jones Indices. Overall, these efforts suggest that Canton is building a portfolio that includes tokenized instruments (collateral, stablecoins, and indices) where cross-chain interoperability is becoming increasingly valuable.
