Federated Hermes and Conduit Digital Holdings have entered into a strategic partnership to promote the development of tokenized money market funds in the Asia-Pacific region
Federated Hermes, Inc., an asset management company with US$911.6 billion under management. (NYSE: FHI) announced on September 1 that it has established a strategic alliance with Singapore-based Conduit Digital Holdings to support the launch of a regulated tokenized money market fund distribution structure in the Asia Pacific region. The announcement marks Federated Hermes 'first digital asset initiative in the region and uses its flagship product, the U.S. Prime Fund, as an anchor fund for tokenized multi-currency products.
How tokenization structures work
Under the agreement, investment funds managed by Conduit will invest in the Federated Hermes short-term U.S. premium funds, giving Conduit fund unit holders access to tokenization exposure to the underlying investment portfolio. The premium fund is an actively managed, UCITS compliant money market fund that invests in high-quality dollar-denominated short-term debt such as commercial paper and certificates of deposit. Federated Hermes has more than 50 years of innovative experience in the money market field and manages $676.9 billion in money market assets.
Federated Hermes 'broader tokenization layout
The partnership with Conduit continues a series of recent digital asset initiatives by Federated Hermes, including providing tokenized access to three UCITS money market funds through the FCA-regulated Archax exchange, and participating in an industry-wide mirror tokenization program. The company also cited its first money market fund that complies with the GENIUS Act. Kevin Barr was appointed Director of Digital Asset Products and Platform Strategy in May 2026, responsible for leading the company's strategy on regulated digital assets and tokenization.
Asia-Pacific expansion and institutional demand
Conduit Digital Holdings brings end-to-end tokenization infrastructure and regional distribution network supervised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore to this cooperation. Jim Roland, head of business development for Asia Pacific and Australia at Federated Hermes, said: "Tokenized products represent an emerging way to interact with customers, combining our investment expertise with Conduit's MAS-regulated end-to-end tokenization capabilities and regional distribution network." Conduit views the partnership as a move beyond settlement and points to collateral, multi-currency management and AI-based money systems as practical features it hopes to unlock. "We are committed to unlocking the full utility of these tokens," said Richard Schroder, co-founder and CEO of Conduit Digital Holdings. This move follows a broader wave of institutional tokenized fund offerings, including the tokenization of money market funds by Goldman Sachs and Bank of New York Mellon, and BounceBit's launch of Franklin Templeton tokenized money market funds.
