INFQ shares rose in pre-market trading after IEEE recognized CTO Pranav Gokhale's work in quantum computing. Gokhale won the IEEE 2026 Early Career Quantum Computing Achievement Award. Infleqtion highlighted its cross-layer development progress in quantum hardware and software. Superstaq supports quantum optimization across frameworks and hardware systems. IEEE will award the award during Quantum Week 2026 in Toronto, Canada.
Infleqtion (ticker: INFQ) rose 1.03% to $12.81 in pre-market trading after closing at $12.67 on Tuesday. This change was followed by news that Chief Technology Officer Pranav Gokhale won the 2026 IEEE Award for Important Quantum Computing Work. The recognition brought new market attention to Infleqtion's technological leadership this week and its growing neutral atom quantum computing business.
IEEE Awards highlight Gokhale's work in quantum computing
The IEEE Quantum Technology Community selected Gokhale to receive the 2026 Outstanding Early Career Award in Quantum Technology and Engineering. The annual award recognizes early career scientists and engineers who have made significant contributions in quantum computing and engineering research. IEEE also considers technological achievements, leadership, research influence, and broader advances in today's expanding global field of quantum computing.
Gokhale's career has been devoted to connecting quantum hardware, control systems, software, compilers, applications and advanced algorithms. His research has produced more than a dozen publications, multiple patents, and three best paper awards in his professional career. His work covers circuit optimization, benchmarking, error mitigation, quantum algorithms, and hardware-aware compilation for actual quantum systems.
Before joining Infleqtion, Gokhale co-founded Super.tech and served as the company's CEO and technical leader. Super.tech developed quantum compilation, optimization and benchmarking software, and Infleqtion subsequently acquired the company in 2022 to expand the platform. The acquisition brings Gokhale's software expertise to Infleqtion's broader quantum computing platform and ongoing's commercial product development efforts.
Infleqtion expands quantum platforms around cross-layer technologies
Gokhale is currently responsible for Infleqtion's global technology strategy for quantum computing hardware, software, applications and related product development plans. The company uses its Superstaq software to improve the performance of quantum programs through cross-layer optimization of different hardware systems and platforms. Superstaq also supports multiple quantum programming frameworks and hardware backends used by researchers and enterprise development teams in various markets.
