FollowingKakao Pay and KakaoBank teamed up with Fireblocks to jointly explore the construction of digital asset infrastructure in South Korea
Kakao Pay and KakaoBank have signed a memorandum of understanding with Fireblocks to jointly explore the development and deployment of digital asset infrastructure in South Korea. The cooperation will include proof-of-concept testing tailored to domestic regulatory and security standards, with the goal of promoting on-chain infrastructure in South Korea's growing digital asset market.
Focus on stablecoins and local compliance supervision
Under the agreement, two major entities within the Kakao ecosystem-Kakao Pay and KakaoBank-will jointly develop digital asset solutions, with a special focus on the stablecoins field. These initiatives are designed to comply with South Korea's complex regulatory requirements while ensuring strong safety and service quality.
Kakao Pay focuses on mobile payments and various financial services, while KakaoBank is South Korea's largest pure Internet bank. New York-based Fireblocks provides digital asset custody and transfer Infrastructure services with more than 2,500 global institutional customers, including more than 100 banks.

Kakao Pay与KakaoBank的持续项目表明，韩国在主流金融服务中采用区块链技术的势头正在增强。通过启动联合概念验证测试，领先的金融机构正逐步迈向将稳定币整合至本地市场的支付、汇款和结算服务中。
虽然尚未公布具体的发布或投资计划，但韩国最大的数字支付和银行服务提供商仍在为安全、合规的数字资产平台打下基础，以期待监管环境的进一步明晰。
