Japan Tax Free 运营着名为 JapanRefund 的服务，专门处理外国游客的退税事宜。UPBOND 则提供钱包基础设施，通过 Avalanche C 链发放退税款项。

该平台将 Japan Tax Free 的国家清算系统与 UPBOND 内置的钱包软件相结合，使得即使没有加密货币使用经验的游客也能在出发口岸轻松创建账户。如果旅行者已经持有兼容的钱包，可以直接使用；若无钱包，则可通过 UPBOND 进行设置。

具体流程如下：游客首先按含税价格购买商品。在离境时，海关核实物品已离开日本国境，随后 Japan Tax Free 确认交易并将退税金额发送至游客的钱包中。持有的 JPYC 可在链上保留，或转换为其他稳定币（如 USDC）。

此次服务的上线恰逢日本国家政策调整之际。11 月 1 日不仅是新服务的启动日期，也是日本免税制度从原有模式转向“离境退税”模式的关键节点。

在监管层面，JPYC 与日元保持 1:1 的挂钩关系。根据日本的《资金结算法》，它被归类为电子支付方式，而非加密资产。总部位于东京的 JPYC 于 2025 年 10 月开始发行其所称的日本首个获法律认可的日元稳定币，此前已在金融服务局注册为资金转移服务提供商。所有发行的代币均由 100% 的日元存款和政府债券储备支持。
