THORChain version 3.20 launches the conversion function of native Monero and Zcash with Bitcoin, Eth

THORChain 3.20 upgrade released, natively supporting the exchange of Monero and Zcash.

THORChain is a decentralized exchange. It recently announced the launch of an upgrade to THORChain 3.20 version, which natively supports the exchange of Monero (XMR) and Zcash (ZEC).

Previously, users who wanted to transfer between private coins such as XMR or ZEC and the cryptocurrency market had to rely on centralized exchanges, custody services or additional intermediary steps. Through THORChain 3.20, users can directly exchange XMR and ZEC natively on THORChain to trade with assets such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and stablecoins.

The entire process does not require the use of a packaged version of XMR or ZEC, nor does it require the creation of accounts or hosting assets with a centralized entity. This provides a more direct path between privacy-first cryptocurrencies and mainstream cryptoassets.

For Monero holders, as XMR continues to be removed or restricted on centralized exchanges, the need to access the broader cryptocurrency market is becoming increasingly urgent. THORChain's integration provides an alternative based on native assets and autonomous custody, allowing users to participate in the exchange without having to deposit tokens on an exchange.

This upgrade is one of THORChain's most important updates to date. In addition to integrating Monero and Zcash, version 3.20 also includes a number of extensive improvements to the protocol, including protocol proprietary liquidity (POL) and new stablecoin reserves, while re-supporting Solana, Base and BNB. The stablecoin reserve enables illiquid fee exchanges between stablecoins, while the protocol's own liquidity provides THORChain with an additional mechanism for deploying protocol capital on the network.

This move further consolidates THORChain's core proposition: allowing users to directly exchange native cryptocurrencies between previously disconnected blockchain networks without having to hand over control of assets to intermediaries.

THORChain already supports native cross-chain exchanges of assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Joining the Privacy Network this time expands this model to areas in the cryptocurrency market where decentralized access has so far been extremely limited.

About THORChain
