Ethereum maintains bullish momentum, and buying continues to defend the breakthrough results
Ethereum maintains a strong upward momentum driven by the power of bulls. Buyers continue to stick to recent breakthroughs and continue to test key resistance areas. Despite the decline in trading volume, derivatives positions remained stable, reflecting the resilience shown by market participants as Ethereum pursues further gains.
Technical prospects and key price levels
Currently, Ethereum is consolidating below the key resistance zone around $2,550. Cryptocurrency analyst Satoshi Flipper pointed out that this level is crucial, noting that if Ethereum can sustain above $2,550, the market's focus could shift to the psychological $3,000 barrier.
Previously, the cryptocurrency climbed from a mid-summer consolidation range of about $1,560 to about $2,522. This trend has established a more solid market structure and positioned Ethereum above its main moving average. The 20-day exponential moving average (EMA) is currently at approximately $2,425. Ethereum's ability to stay above technical indicators provides underlying support for its bullish trend and provides buyers with a solid foundation for potential further profits.
As long as prices remain above the 20th EMA and hover below key resistance levels, buyer activity remains active. A strong breakthrough of $2,550 may trigger a large number of new buy orders and pave the way for a surge to $3,000. However, failure to confirm a decisive breakthrough could lead to a new round of sideways trading. To consolidate the bullish scenario, a sustained close must be achieved above this level; if it breaks below the 20th EMA,$2,200 will become the next support level to focus on.
Momentum Indicators and Trading Activity
Technical indicators further support Ethereum's current prospects. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) reading on the 14-cycle chart is 63.6, indicating that buying pressure is healthy and not entering overbought territory. The RSI is above 50, indicating continued bullish momentum. If buyers continue to maintain the initiative, there is still room for further appreciation.
However, traders are also watching closely for any signs of exhaustion. If a decline in RSI is accompanied by a failed breakthrough, it may point to another round of consolidation.
Derivatives Market Trends
According to Coinglass, daily trading volume for Ethereum fell 66.76% to approximately $23.2 billion. Despite the sharp contraction, open interest in Ethereum derivatives remained stable at approximately US$31.8 billion, indicating that market participants maintained their positions as overall activity declined.
This divergence suggests that many traders are taking a wait-and-see attitude, waiting for decisive moves above resistance and higher trading volumes before investing in new money. An increase in trading volume coupled with a breakthrough of $2,550 may provide the necessary confirmation signal for Ethereum to resume bullish momentum.
Ethereum's leading position in real-world asset (RWA) adoption
From a fundamental perspective, Ethereum continues to lead the adoption of real-world assets (RWA) in the blockchain space. Token Terminal data shows that Ethereum's market value in the RWA field is approximately US$23 billion, accounting for nearly half of the global market value of this segment of US$46.4 billion.
Other blockchains have also recorded significant growth in this area. Solana's RWA market value increased by $263.3 million, while Stellar and Robinhood Chain increased by $150.6 million and $148.9 million respectively.
Although RWA's expansion does not directly guarantee that ETH prices will rise in the short term, Ethereum's dominant share of the market provides support for its broader adoption story. For now, the focus is still on whether Ethereum can decisively clear the $2,550 resistance level. Success will strengthen the bullish outlook, targeting $3,000, while failure could cause the cryptocurrency to test important support levels on its key moving average.
Micro Dictionary
