Aave V4's total deposits on Avalanche exceed US$30 million
Aave V4's total deposits on Avalanche (Avalanche Chain) have exceeded the US$30 million mark. This milestone highlights the growing demand for decentralized lending infrastructure and also marks the gradual move towards active credit markets for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs).
RWA hub built specifically for institutions
This breakthrough in deposit volume follows the announcement released by Aave Labs on September 16. The announcement details the idea of a planned launch of a dedicated RWA hub on Avalanche. The market will allow institutions to borrow money using tokenized assets as collateral without selling underlying positions. Initially, the hub will support USA, a U.S. dollar stablecoin issued by the federally chartered Anchorage Digital Bank, with technical and operational support from Tether.
The RWA hub will operate on the Aave V4 already deployed on Avalanche. By adopting an "AHub-and-Spoke" architecture, the protocol is able to create a specialized credit market with specific mortgage rules and risk parameters, while maintaining connectivity to Aave's broader liquidity network. In practice, institutional risks will be limited to specialized sub-markets rather than merged into the main agreement pool, thereby effectively isolating risks.
USA will become the first loanable asset, providing approved participants with a source of dollar-denominated liquidity. Eligible collateral is expected to include tokenized treasury bonds, private credit and real estate, but the specific official release date has not yet been announced.
Avalanche becomes a tokenization hub
Aave V4 was launched on Avalanche in July 2026, its first V4 deployment after Ethereum. According to data cited in the announcement, the size of the tokenized RWA market has grown by 40% since the beginning of 2026, exceeding the US$51 billion mark. Avalanche has positioned itself as a key destination for this growth.
John Nahas, chief commercial officer of Ava Labs, said that as institutions adopt tokenized assets, they need to find a way to borrow on their positions and gain liquidity in the same way they use collateral in traditional financial markets.
According to DeFiLlama data, Aave is currently the largest decentralized financial (DeFi) lending platform based on total lock-in value (TVL). This deployment on Avalanche is widely seen as a template for promoting V4 versions on other chains in the future.
