Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Rakuten Wallet announced that it would hold an upcoming promotion to express support to the Shiba Inu (SHIB) community and further consolidate the platform's continued focus on meme coins.

SHIB physical commemorative coins will be presented at the September event.

Rakuten Wallet revealed that its Securities Investment School will hold an event in Fukuoka on September 12, when Matsuda, senior analyst of the exchange, will give a special speech. Participants who hold SHIB in their Rakuten Wallet account will receive "Real SHIB Coins"-a commemorative metal collectible coin first launched in July. The exchange stated that it only needs to provide a screenshot of the SHIB held on the platform to meet the collection conditions. In addition, other seminars are planned to be held in Sapporo and Osaka in October, and SHIB commemorative coins will also be presented. Participants in Fukuoka events can show screenshots of their SHIB holdings in Rakuten Wallet to collect the commemorative metal coin; subsequent seminars in Sapporo and Osaka will provide similar opportunities.

Physical SHIB coins and support for Rakuten

In July this year, Rakuten Wallet launched the first physical Shiba Inu coin made using sandblasting technology (also known as sandblasting finish). This metal object is strictly used as a souvenir, has nothing to do with the SHIB blockchain, and does not have transaction functions.
(Small dictionary: Sand blasting technology is a surface treatment process that uses high-speed sand grains to form a matte or textured effect on the metal surface, giving coins a unique appearance.)

In April this year, the exchange included Shiba Inu among the tokens it supports. This integration allows millions of Japanese users to redeem Rakuten's loyalty program points, or Rakuten Points, for SHIB. These points and tokens themselves can be consumed through Rakuten Pay, which is covered at more than 5 million retail locations across Japan.

In June this year, Rakuten Wallet launched educational content for SHIB to help users understand relevant information. Senior analyst Matsuda produced a special video titled "Understanding SHIB", further strengthening the company's commitment to education and promotion in the Shiba Inu community.

Market conditions and altcoin performance

The overall cryptocurrency market remains sluggish, with most altcoins receding recent gains, while Bitcoin continues to dominate trading activity. SHIB has fallen 3.61% in the past 24 hours to bid at US$0.000051. Currently, the altcoin seasonal index is 33 (out of 100), indicating that the market is less enthusiastic about replacing tokens than Bitcoin.

Key data: SHIB price (24 hours): US$0.0000051 (down 3.61%); altcoin seasonal index: 33/100;Rakuten Pay stores in Japan: 5 million.
