The crypto market correction on September 5: Bitcoin fell below US$80,000, and Dash led the top 100 currencies.

According to CoinMarketCap data, the cryptocurrency market entered a adjustment period on September 5, and the price of Bitcoin fell below US$80,000. Among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation, Dash (DASH) performed the strongest, becoming the asset with the largest increase on the day.

Major currencies fell across the board

As of 11 a.m. on September 5 (Korean Standard Time), Bitcoin (BTC) fell 1.37% from the previous day to US$79,607.32; Ethereum (ETH) fell 1.88% to US$2,453.51. Mainstream cryptocurrencies generally showed a downward trend.

Other major currencies:

  • XRP fell 2.97% to US$1.39;
  • Solana (SOL) fell 1.51% to US$101.90;
  • Dogecoin (DOGE) fell 2.23% to US$0.08482;
  • Avalanche (AVAX) fell 1.31% to US$7.39.

Tron (TRX) was one of the few mainstream currencies to record gains, rising 0.75% to US$0.3321. World Liberty Financial (WLFI) fell 1.58% to $0.05657;Worldcoin (WLD) fell slightly 1.57% to $0.3858.

Volatility in the altcoin market intensifies

Among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation, Dash (DASH) posted the largest one-day gain, soaring 38.96%. LayerZero (ZRO) saw the most significant decline, down 9.48%.

Among other altcoin markets, QUAI rose sharply 13.93% to US$0.009728;ALEO fell slightly 1.08% to US$0.01685.

New listed currencies

CoinMarketCap has also added five newly listed cryptocurrencies in the past 24 hours: Credible Finance (CRED), clan.tech (CLAN), A Meme Coin (AMC), memestock (MEMESTOCK), and The Dogestar (SIRIUS).
