Does Bitcoin show resilience in turmoil?
Despite continued outflows from ETFs, Bitcoin has shown some resilience in the past 24 hours. The price initially traded around $75,850, briefly dipped to $75,350 and then recovered to $76,600. Prices then stabilized in the US$76,400 to US$76,500 range, reflecting the market's ability to absorb short-term selling pressure.
Against the background of nearly US$750 million in ETF outflows, Bitcoin was still able to hold support levels around US$76,500, reflecting the market's strong resilience in the face of a brief wave of selling.
Are other factors affecting the market?
At the macroeconomic level, the Federal Reserve raised its policy rate by 25 basis points, setting a target range between 3.75% and 4.00%. This is the first rate hike since 2023 and suggests there may be room for further rate hikes before the end of the year. A high interest rate environment usually puts pressure on risky assets such as Bitcoin by increasing the return on low-risk investments and enhancing the attractiveness of the US dollar. In addition, the Senate failed to pass the CLARITY Act, and the lack of necessary votes added to another uncertainty in the crypto market.
