Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragzi announced that the country is fully prepared for a new conflict. Tehran has also put forward a proposal within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for seven days and suspend the conflict. Iran's proposal aims to launch broader negotiations later. However, Trump rejected the proposal, claiming that Iran was under great pressure to seek a deal and stressed that Iran should not possess nuclear weapons.
Since the Strait of Hormuz is a key channel for global oil transportation, dynamics in the region not only affect the energy market, but may also affect the risk appetite of the overall cryptocurrency market.
Why are Treasury yields important to Bitcoin?
The conflict that began in early March has exacerbated market concerns about inflation, and U.S. Treasury yields have also risen. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note rose 127 basis points to 5.20%, reaching its highest level since 2007. The rise was influenced by inflation concerns, expectations of a possible Fed rate hike and debt-related concerns.
High Treasury yields may make assets like Bitcoin that do not generate interest yields less attractive to investors. Therefore, interest rate expectations and government bond yields are important macroeconomic indicators that need to be paid attention to when evaluating digital asset prices.
What key bitcoin prices should I pay attention to?
Although Bitcoin experienced a significant correction at the beginning of the year, it rebounded strongly in the third quarter. BTC has risen 42% in the past three months, outperforming most major assets, including Nasdaq and gold. However, technical positions remain important in the short term. Vikram Subburaj, CEO of Giottus, believes that the US$83,800 -84,000 region is the key support level for Bitcoin in the near term, while the US$85,000 -85,800 range is the first resistance level.
Given that Bitcoin is currently priced at approximately US$83,200, it is below the above support area. Subburaj also pointed out that at current levels, it is more appropriate to be cautious rather than blindly chasing gains.
Looking to the future, geopolitical developments, oil prices, government bond yields and U.S. monetary policy will be key factors determining the trend of Bitcoin. Combining technical indicators with macro data to track these changes can provide a more comprehensive market analysis perspective for cryptocurrency investment.
