While Bitcoin's immediate response to Tuesday's CCI data may be limited only by headline numbers, broader market effects based on report details may emerge. Specifically, the results may affect expectations for U.S. interest rates and the direction of the U.S. dollar.
A reading below 88 could exacerbate concerns about economic weakness, which could lead to lower U.S. Treasury yields and the U.S. dollar. In this case, Bitcoin may benefit as an alternative store of value. If the index approaches market expectations of around 90, prices may respond modestly. On the contrary, if the index is higher than 92, it may strengthen the yields of the US dollar and government bonds, putting downward pressure on Bitcoin.
Currently, according to CoinGecko data, Bitcoin is trading at approximately US$83,000, down approximately 2% in the past 24 hours. As the market prepares for the release of economic data, the price is also about 5% lower than the recent seven-day high of $87,329.89.
