QNT Quant (QNT): The strongest performer among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation in a week
Quant (QNT) became the strongest performer among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation in the past week. London-based Quant is working on developing Overledger software, which aims to connect different blockchain systems in banks and businesses. QNT tokens used for web access soared from approximately US$64 to US$371 in seven days, an increase of more than 300%, before falling back to approximately US$260.
What are the banking developments behind Quant's rise?
The main catalyst for the sharp rise in QNT prices was two independent banking announcements issued on September 24. Statements from the United States and the United Kingdom on the same day placed Quant at the center of the traditional banking system's efforts to transfer deposits to blockchain infrastructure.
In the U.S., The Clearing House chose Quant's technology for its new tokenized deposit network. The Clearing House, owned by 25 large U.S. banks, including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Citibank, processes more than $2 trillion in payment transactions every day. The new network is expected to be launched in the first half of 2027. The Clearing House, an important player in U.S. dollar payments, has developed tokenized products that may pave the way for wider use in the banking industry.
