The number of XRP giant whale wallets climbed to 2038. Edo Farina pointed out an increase in holdings signal
XRP investor Edo Farina found an on-chain trend worthy of attention, which he believes may herald a major turning point in the XRP market trend. In a video shared on X platform by cryptocurrency investor King Karan, Farina compared current activity in large XRP wallets with patterns before XRP soared after the bear market in 2019.
Increased holdings in large wallets suggest growing interest
Farina pointed out that the number of wallets holding at least 1 million XRPs is growing steadily, rising from approximately 2006 to 2038 in recent months. He believes the increase is significant, indicating that large holders are taking advantage of the current market downturn to increase their holdings in XRP, while many retail holders seem to be losing confidence.
Farina described the activity as similar to the period of increased holdings he observed in 2019, when growth in the number of large wallet addresses preceded a rally. At that time, the XRP price was below $0.17, and then quickly climbed to above $1.80 within a few months. This experience continues to shape his strategy, making him prioritize on-chain data over daily price fluctuations or market sentiment.
Farina pointed out that while most people are disappointed with the short-term price of XRP,"large wallets are quietly increasing their holdings again, while small holders are withdrawing." This on-chain model is similar to the situation before XRP's last major rally."
Although Farina acknowledges that investors cannot directly identify the owners of large wallets, he maintains that the trend of increasing holdings can be clearly seen in blockchain data. However, he warned not to assume that these purchases were only related to institutions or specific entities, as the identity of the wallet remains unknown.
Pessimism persists among retail holders
According to Farina, the market remains deeply mistrust, with some participants frustrated by the long-term lack of positive price performance of XRP and blaming Ripple and its management team. Still, Farina believes that persistent negative sentiment often coincides with critical periods of increasing holdings for large players.
He also tried to distance himself from group sentiment, preferring objective on-chain verification rather than rhetoric circulated among retail investors. For him, the increase in the number of high-balance XRP wallets is more instructive than comments on social media or market forums.
Regulatory impact is debated and focus shifts to practical uses
Farina does not believe that short-term regulation (including the CLARITY Act) will be a key driver of XRP price movements. He said that while regulatory clarity remains important for long-term adoption, legislative changes are unlikely to provide an immediate value surge to XRP. Instead, Farina believes that the token's path will be determined by its utility in financial settlement and the development of use cases on XRP Ledger.
Farina explained that legislation alone is unlikely to determine the long-term trajectory of XRP, emphasizing that decentralized ledger technology, artificial intelligence and evolving institutional adoption will be more important in the coming years.
He encourages investors to distinguish between speculation and verifiable blockchain indicators, insisting that personal research and careful data analysis are crucial to responding to current market conditions. Farina reiterated that his analysis is not financial advice and that every investor should conduct independent due diligence before making a decision.
As on-chain data becomes increasingly central to trading and investment strategies, traditional market structures are also changing. Although the traditional financial system relies on multiple tiers of brokers and intermediaries, a change is emerging as Wall Street transitions to a Web3 solution. Platforms such as 1stepSwap now allow investors to hold tokenized versions of well-known U.S. stocks, gold and silver directly in their crypto wallets. By tokenizing real-world assets and instantly matching optimal prices, these platforms aim to lower the threshold and completely bypass traditional middlemen.
Farina concluded that these combined trends in wallet distribution and technology adoption strengthen the value of direct and transparent access to financial markets, heralding a new era for both cryptocurrency and traditional asset holders.
