Bitcoin prices face resistance of US$80,000, and the long target points to US$82,700.

The cost range of positions of US$62,000 to US$65,000 may constitute strong downward support. The Relative Strength Indicator (RSI) has weakened, and if Bitcoin fails to exceed US$80,000, there is a risk of a bearish divergence. The current bitcoin price is around US$77,154, down 0.37% during the day, and traders are closely watching the resistance level around US$80,000. The market has recently cleared liquidity below lows, and analyst Michaël van de Poppe has set the next target at $82,700. At the same time, CryptoQuant reported that cyclical momentum signals indicate that the current downward trend may be turning into a bullish reversal.

"This signal suggests that Bitcoin is most likely emerging from the downward trend and reversing the bear market."-- CryptoQuant, September 2, 2026

In addition, the US$62,000 to 65,000 region remains an important holding cost cluster. Crypto Patel pointed out that a large amount of Bitcoin accumulation occurred in this range, which could make it a key support area for future declines.

Bitcoin prices are supported by solid holder positions

Bitcoin prices are still well above the accumulation range of US$62,000 to US$65,000. Highly concentrated holders within this range may generate stronger demand if the market experiences a deeper correction. Van de Poppe said Bitcoin likely cleared liquidity below recent lows before moving higher. He predicts that if buyers maintain control, the next key level will be around $82,700.

"This is highly likely to break through upwards for the simple reason that it is currently absorbing liquidity below the lows. Next stop: #Bitcoin's $82,700."-- Michaël van de Poppe, September 2, 2026

CryptoQuant also pointed out that cyclical momentum data suggests potential bear market reversals. The indicator suggests that Bitcoin may be preparing to break through its larger downward trend, but price confirmation is still necessary. The current structure still faces a critical test near US$80,000. Many attempts to break through this level failed to form a sustained breakthrough.

Technical pattern of Bitcoin prices shows momentum divergence

Daily charts show that Bitcoin prices are testing a downtrend line that has suppressed gains since its February 2026 high (approximately $97,500). The RSI is currently at 64.46, down from the previous reading of 76.02, creating a potential bearish divergence. Bitcoin/USD Daily Chart

If the price continues to exceed US$80,000, it will weaken the bearish pattern and open up upside in the US$85,000 to US$87,500 range. Conversely, if it is rejected, Bitcoin may fall to US$75,000, and the 50-day moving average will provide another support reference. As of press time, Bitcoin prices are still hovering between adjacent resistance and support, making the breakthrough level of US$80,000 the key to the next direction.
