Strategy returns to Bitcoin purchases: Increase its holdings by 950, BTC exceeds US$85,000

As the cryptocurrency market rebounded broadly driven by ETF demand, short covering and improved risk appetite, Bitcoin prices briefly climbed above US$85,000. In this context, Strategy relaunched its Bitcoin purchase program, purchasing 950 bitcoins at an average price of US$79,670.

Position Size and Capital Management

The company completed the transaction between September 14 and September 20, with a total cost of approximately US$75.7 million. This increase brought Strategy's total bitcoin holdings to 846,000, with a cumulative acquisition cost of approximately US$63.8 billion, and an average holding cost of US$75,416.

This is the first time since late August that Strategy has carried out a weekly increase in Bitcoin holdings. Previously, the company held 845,050 bitcoins and focused its funds on a STRC share repurchase program that began earlier this month.

In addition, Strategy spent approximately US$174 million to repurchase its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock during the latest reporting period. This move continues its strategy of parallel capital management with Bitcoin accumulation.

Financial Condition and Market Performance

As of September 20, Strategy had approximately US$5.04 billion in U.S. dollar reserves and US$1.05 billion in U.S. dollar cash. Among them, reserves are mainly used to support dividend payments and interest obligations on preferred shares, while US dollar cash can be used for Bitcoin purchases and other treasury purposes.
