Investors yesterday invested US$314.37 million in the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF, of which more than 90%(or US$284.42 million) flowed into BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). The U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF attracted capital inflows for the seventh consecutive day, with total net assets rising to US$99.05 billion.
IBIT left $29.95 million to four rival funds. IBIT absorbed US$284.42 million, and the remaining four funds that received inflows received a total of US$29.95 million. Fidelity's FBTC received $15.45 million, grayscale Bitcoin mini trust received $6.98 million, Morgan Stanley's MSBT received $4.52 million, and Bitwise's BITB received $3 million. There were no funds outflow on that day.
In January, IBIT controlled nearly 70% of spot Bitcoin ETF trading volume and managed more than US$66 billion in assets.
The total net assets of all spot Bitcoin funds reached US$99.05 billion, close to US$100 billion, and the total transaction value was US$3.52 billion. A total of US$2.57 billion was absorbed in seven trading days this week. Capital inflows in August reached US$3.03 billion, only US$390 million short of the monthly total in October 2025, and there are still four trading days left this month. The recovery has more than halved the net outflow gap this year to US$2.26 billion, with cumulative net inflows since launch to US$54.36 billion.
BlackRock also leads the way among Ethereum funds, with inflows of $146.44 million. The spot Ethereum ETF attracted $179.8 million, led by BlackRock's ETHA, which received $146.44 million. As of Tuesday, August 25, the Ethereum ETF has had funds inflow for seven consecutive days. Fidelity's FETH increased by $25.75 million and BlackRock's ETHB increased by $7.61 million. All Ethereum funds hold a total of US$14.88 billion.
Other cryptocurrency ETFs have also received new funding. The Solana ETF attracted $32.25 million, four XRP funds received $23.87 million, and the HYPE ETF received $7.51 million.
Gray converted its Zcash trust to an ETF, code ZCSH, traded on NYSE Arca. As of August 24, the fund held approximately US$314 million in assets and approximately 387,200 ZECs.
Bitcoin briefly broke through US$80,000 and fell back. According to CoinGecko data, the coin traded at US$78,447.81 on Wednesday. Ethereum closed at US$2,462.96, down 0.4%. Both currencies have risen sharply this week, with Bitcoin up 14.6% and Ethereum up 17.9%.
The cryptocurrency fear and greed index dropped from 74 to 65, still in the "greedy" zone, but eased somewhat. Despite falling spot prices, demand for cryptocurrency ETFs continues to grow.
