ZEC [alloc] init publishes "Shielded Bitcoin" paper: Private transactions can be achieved without changing the protocol
On Thursday, three researchers from the encryption company [alloc] init published a 56-page paper titled "Shielded Bitcoin." Their promise is to hide the amount of Bitcoin transactions, sender and recipient information without touching any line of code in the Bitcoin protocol. This mechanism draws directly on Zcash's technical architecture, but there is still one key detail missing: no one has yet explained how to store or extract real BTC from the system.
