Ethereum funds continue to have net outflows for the ninth day

Since September 28, Ethereum funds have not seen a single day net inflow. The subsequent downtrend resulted in a total of $697.4 million outflow from these funds as of October 9. It accounted for $635 million of that in October alone, and has been negative for the seven trading days so far this month.

The withdrawal of funds coincides with the weakening of Bitcoin. The previous week, Bitcoin once fell below the US$84,000 mark, and the long-term liquidation amount reached US$487 million. As of writing, Bitcoin was trading at close to $83,000 and Ethereum was close to $2,530, both of which rose slightly on the day.

Not all large buyers are retreating. Bitcoin treasury firm Strive increased its holdings of 2,000 bitcoins between September 28 and October 2, while setting up a new $500 million repurchase program for its preferred shares, even though ETF data showed external funds were flowing in the opposite direction.
