Capital B plans to purchase 270 bitcoins through private placement of US$24.5 million.
Publicly traded Bitcoin treasury Capital B said it has raised US$24.5 million through private placement and plans to use the funds to purchase 270 bitcoins, continuing its corporate strategy of holding bitcoins on its balance sheet rather than trading them.
Capital B's private equity financing injects new capital into Bitcoin reserves
The company disclosed the $24.5 million private equity financing as a separate financing event, structured as a direct sale of securities to selected investors rather than a public offering. Capital B positions itself as a Bitcoin treasury company on its corporate website. The financing follows the company's announcement of a € 21 million capital expansion to accelerate the same treasury plan to expand its holdings. The latest round of private placement continues this model of specifically accumulating bitcoin through external financing.
Plans to buy 270 bitcoins, transaction has not yet been completed
Capital B described the transaction as a forward-looking operation: the company plans to use the newly raised funds to purchase 270 bitcoins, but did not declare that the acquisition was completed. This difference is crucial to the Treasury strategy, whose goal is to convert fiat gains into long-term held Bitcoin assets and post them on the balance sheet. Capital B executive Alexandre Laizet mentioned the financing and the Bitcoin plan in a post posted on the X platform, emphasizing that the financing was directly related to the expected purchase rather than an independent corporate event.
Why Treasury financing is news in the Bitcoin space, not market noise
Treasury accumulation is different from ordinary market transactions. Companies like Capital B raise money to hold Bitcoin as a reserve asset, thereby removing the relevant token from circulating liquidity during strategy execution, which contrasts with short-term positions that recycle supply back to exchanges. This accumulation model has become a common theme among treasury companies, including companies that finance other assets, such as Sharps Technology's Solana treasury and Mill City Ventures 'SUI strategy. Capital B's private equity financing once again puts Bitcoin itself at the heart of this corporate treasury trend.
The currently available disclosure information does not include the pricing terms of the private placement, the time point when the Bitcoin purchase is planned, and the company's total positions after the acquisition. These figures are not asserted here. For Bitcoin holders, the monetary nature of the network itself remains the background: a fixed supply cap of 21 million pieces, enforced by difficulty adjustments and a halving mechanism every about four years, steadily reduces new issues and enables corporate accumulation strategies to compete for this scarce asset.
