What changes has the THORChain upgrade brought?
The core of this upgrade is to promote the THORChain protocol's support for Zcash and incorporate it into the network's native switching architecture. THORChain is designed to allow users to directly exchange one native asset for another without a centralized intermediary, so adding a chain means integration at the protocol level rather than issuing wrapping tokens.
Including Zcash into this framework is the difference between native exchanges and synthetic exchanges. This upgrade is currently the most direct news point, and its practical significance is that ZEC may eventually exchange directly with other supported native assets on THORChain.
