Zamanat launches an exclusive private equity credit fund to fill the financing gap for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Gulf region with blockchain tokenization

Zamanat, the global digital Islamic asset market, recently announced the launch of an exclusive private equity credit fund. To this end, Zamanat has launched "Zamanat Fund CEIC Limited" to address the financing challenges of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

According to Zamanat's official announcement, this development marks the first time that the platform has realized a tokenization example of compliance funds through ZIGChain technology. The fund is committed to providing convenience to professional investors by combining blockchain-based settlement and issuance mechanisms with a regulated investment framework.

Focus on regional pain points: Use private equity funds to relieve financial pressure on small and medium-sized enterprises

With the launch of Zamanat Fund CEIC Limited, Zamanat plans to allow institutional investors to channel their capital to mature Gulf region companies seeking alternative sources of growth funding. Medium and small companies occupy a core position in the Gulf economy, but they still face difficulties in obtaining large-scale financing through traditional banking channels.

In the region, only 11% of small and medium-sized enterprises have access to credit support, highlighting the structural challenges faced by companies that rely on capital to expand their businesses. Especially in the United Arab Emirates, small and medium-sized enterprises contribute more than half of the region's gross domestic product (GDP) and absorb most of the private sector's labor force. Despite their economic significance, these companies account for less than 10% of total bank loans. This situation leaves huge room for development for alternative private equity financing markets and financing providers. In view of this, Zamanat Fund CEIC Limited will invest in diversified private equity credit opportunities in the Gulf region.

Relying on ZIGChain tokenization technology to expand the Gulf private equity credit landscape

Zamanat Fund CEIC Limited directs funds to regional entities whose needs have not yet been fully met by traditional lending institutions. This strategy is consistent with broader economic diversification efforts, taking into account Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and United Arab Emirates's Centenary Plan 2071, both of which emphasize private sector progress and deeper participation by small and medium-sized enterprises.

The new fund combines the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) fund model, blockchain-based digital issuance, institutional management and local private equity credit strategies. According to Zamanat, the platform's investment interests will be issued as "ZM1 investment tokens" through ZIGChain in whitelisted and regulated environments.

The fund is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) and belongs to a credit fund under the closed-end exempt fund category. Umair Tariq, CEO of Zamanat, said: "The fund has a target size of up to US$100 million and issues equity in the form of investment tokens. This is our first practical case to bring private equity credit in the Gulf into a regulated digital structure to serve professional clients."
