ADA Cardano: Celebrating ninth anniversary with extraordinary milestone
Cardano celebrates the ninth anniversary of the birth of its Creation Block, which was created on September 23, 2017. The main network was then officially launched on September 29, 2017, marking the official start of ADA's journey on the public blockchain. As the Cardano Foundation and equity infrastructure provider Everstake focus on the network's major achievements over the years, the community is filled with news of celebrations.
What are the key statistics for the network?
Over the past nine years, Cardano has witnessed the activation of 2,890 equity pools and the creation of 13.978 million blocks, with a cumulative total of 123.982 million transactions. In addition, Cardano implemented the on-chain constitution, which passed 158 governance actions with 36,322 votes. The Cardano Foundation continues to actively support the development of ecosystems and maintain their standards.
The Cardano Foundation emphasized: "Since the production of the first block, thousands of equity pools, more than 100 million transactions and on-chain governance have become an important part of the network."
The creation of the Creation Block is one of two key events in Cardano's history, the other key event being the launch of the Mainnet on September 29, 2017. This shift marks Cardano's transition from an experimental phase to an operational public blockchain.
A journey shaped by upgrades?
