From deep loss to double-digit gain

Core DAO's native token,$CORE, has staged one of the most dramatic rallies in the current cryptocurrency cycle. Although its value has fallen by nearly 95% in the past year, the asset has soared more than 40% in the past 40 days, with a 30% gain in just two weeks. This momentum has made $CORE one of the most prominent assets in the overall market rebound.

Considering that the token has fallen to such a low level, the extent of the rebound is worthy of attention. At its peak,$CORE was trading at close to $6.90, peaking in February 2023, before a prolonged decline eroded most of its value. The recent recovery has not erased those losses, but it does signal a renewed interest among traders in the project.

What is Core and its Importance

Core is an Ethereum-compatible Layer-1 blockchain that aims to leverage Bitcoin's security and introduce smart contracts and decentralized finance to Bitcoin. The network runs a proprietary consensus model called Satoshi Plus. This hybrid mechanism combines Bitcoin's mining power with the delegated proof-of-stake system, making Core a bridge between Bitcoin security and EVM-compatible chain programmability.

The network allows Bitcoin holders to earn proceeds through unmanaged pledges and access DeFi apps without having to bridge or encapsulate their BTC. In terms of token economics, the maximum supply of $CORE is 2.1 billion, mirroring Bitcoin's scarcity model at a ratio of 100 times.

Whether this rebound can last will depend on broader market conditions and whether Core can continue to build its ecosystem. Currently, the coin's sharp rise has brought it back into the eyes of traders after a difficult period.
