Chai is suspected of using inside information to trade multiple tokens.

Prosecutors accuse Chai of using confidential deposit dates to open long perpetual contract positions for tokens such as MEW, MOODENG, ASTER, XPL, HYPE, ENA, AERO, SYRUP, LDO, DOT and LIT on the Hyperliquid platform. In multiple cases, he closed these positions after assets were opened for trading on the Robinhood platform, but before the company officially announced the deposit announcement.

Such allegations are similar to previous Coinbase listings cases, where confidential information about upcoming tokens was used to conduct transactions in advance before public announcements.

Xiang is suspected of trading POPCAT before Robinhood's listing

It is alleged that Xiang received internal Slack news about Robinhood's plan to launch POPCAT tokens in March 2025, then transferred approximately US$34,000 of ETH to a wallet associated with Hyperliquid, and opened a POPCAT long perpetual contract the next day.

He closed these positions after POPCAT opened trading on the Robinhood platform, but before a public announcement of the deposit was made. Prosecutors confirmed that between May 2025 and February 2026, the same wallet traded perpetual contracts at least 10 times before Robinhood was deposited.

Robinhood cooperates with federal investigation
