ASTER is facing growing selling pressure after $1.37 million in tokens unlocked increased circulation supply
Despite weaker technical indicators, rising repo and online activity provided support. If it breaks below support, ASTER may fall into the US$0.58 liquidity area.
Aster (ASTER) entered a critical period after unlocking US$1.37 million worth of tokens, with new supplies entering the market, while prices still hovering near long-term support. The distribution came at a time when price momentum was weak, leaving traders uncertain about the next move. Although online activity remains healthy and buybacks continue to reduce circulating supply, bearish technical signals still dominate. The next few days will determine whether buyers regain control of the situation or sellers push ASTER to lower support levels.
New supplies enter the market, and repurchase faces critical tests.
According to the latest released data, more than 70% of newly unlocked tokens are used for ecological pledges and community airdrops. This allocation method supports network participation and encourages long-term investment, rather than investing all unlocked amounts directly into open market transactions. Even so, any increase in liquidity supply could create additional selling pressure, especially if market sentiment remains fragile.
Timing has also raised concerns, as ASTER has struggled to generate meaningful upward momentum for weeks. Trading activity was relatively flat, with prices remaining near the bottom of their range of fluctuations for months. Without stronger buying interest, additional supply could make recovery more difficult. A recent report highlighted important balancing factors.
The agreement uses 99% of generated rewards for token repurchase, while uncollected rewards are returned to users through ecological airdrops. This strategy helps reduce available supply over time while continuing to reward community participation. Even so, buybacks must absorb new tokens quickly enough to prevent new selling pressures from dominating the market.
ASTER faces further downside risks if support falls.
Technical aspects continue to favor sellers. ASTER has been trading in the same range since February 9, with fluctuations ranging from approximately $0.595 to $0.775. The current price trend is close to the lower boundary of the range, putting increasing pressure on key support levels. Once it breaks clearly, it is likely to intensify the bearish momentum of the entire market.
Another warning comes from moving averages. ASTER continues to trade below the moving averages of all major indices, confirming that sellers are still in control of the overall trend. Bulls must regain these technical levels before market sentiment can shift in a more positive direction.
Liquidation data also identified another important area, near US$0.58, where clearing positions of more than US$1 million have been accumulated. Markets tend to favor these liquidity areas in weak times, so if current support falls, that level will become the main downside target. The new supply brought about by the recent unlock of tokens may further increase the pressure if holders decide to sell.
