A token called " Trump Digital Gold" plunged 99% in hours after launch on Solana
On Saturday, a token called " Trump Trump Digital Gold" plunged 99% in hours after launch on the Solana chain. Previously, the wallet, which controlled 82.45% of the total supply of the token, sold all its positions and made a profit of nearly US$1 million.
The token was created around 7:38 a.m., and about 90 minutes later, it was promoted by an authenticated X account@realtrumpcoins1 (followed by Donald Trump and its profile claimed to be an official partner of a licensed Trump product brand). Its market value once reached US$66 million, and promotional posts were later deleted around 11:48 a.m. In about 30 seconds, the market value fell from about $55 million to $1 million. By 2 p.m., all internal wallets had been withdrawn.
On-chain data reviewed by blockchain analytics firm Lookonchain shows that one developer wallet holds 600 million GOLD tokens, while 15 newly created wallets spent $18657 to purchase another 224.5 million. These wallets hold a total of 824.5 million tokens, accounting for 82.45% of the total supply. Their full liquidation resulted in 9,784.6 SOL, worth approximately $1 million at current prices.
GOLD Retail Loss Trading Card-Denial a week ago
Eric Trump denied on August 22 that any new Trump family tokens are about to be launched. He wrote on X that "no one is launching any form of token" and called any statement to the contrary "fraud." GOLD launched exactly a week later, and its trading account claimed to be an official partner.
RealTrumpCoins.com, the website associated with the account, called GOLD "the most ambitious cryptocurrency project of the Trump Foundation," while making it clear in its small print disclaimer that the website has nothing to do with the Trump organization. As of press time, neither Trump nor Eric Trump had made specific comments on GOLD.
"What a joke... this is absolutely untrue. No one wants to launch any form of token. If anyone implies the contrary, it is fraud."-- Eric Trump August 22, 2026
Unconfirmed hacking allegations
Another account, which claimed that@realtrumpcoins1 had been hacked and that the recharge wallet involved received funds from Binance within an hour, urged the exchange to review its Know Your Customer (KYC) records. A second unconfirmed allegation circulated in the form of screenshots, claiming Iranian involvement and citing a deleted post showing off profits. Neither allegation has been independently confirmed and is reported here only as claims that are still under investigation.
