Robinhood added searchable asset pages to JUGGERNAUT and FRONG, which helped the price of Meme coin soar.
JUGGERNAUT's price soared by more than 500% in an hour, and then partially corrected;FRONG rose nearly 130%, reportedly hitting a record high of US$0.0164. It is worth noting that although these two tokens have not been traded spot on the Robinhood Crypto platform, the searchable asset page added by Robinhood still triggered a strong reaction from the market.
Asset page sparks misunderstandings and buying craze
Whale Scan was the first to notice the searchable asset pages of JUGGERNOUT and FRONG on Robinhood, although Robinhood has not officially announced support for spot trading of these two tokens. This move allows Robinhood users to search and monitor market data for these tokens, but it does not mean Robinhood Crypto has opened up buy or sell capabilities on its centralized trading platform.
This confusion of distinctions seems to have exacerbated the initial market reaction. Farokh Sarmad, co-founder of Myriad Markets, pointed out to fans that Robinhood only created an asset page for the tokens, not completing an exchange listing. "Basically, they just created an asset page on Robinhood where you can search for the token, but it's not a listing." Sarmad said.
As of press time, neither Robinhood nor Robinhood Crypto have announced spot support for JUGGERNOUT or FRONG. Future spot listings have also not yet been confirmed, so the appearance of asset pages should not be seen as a promise that future transactions will be supported. Financial platforms often provide market data pages so that users can track assets for which the platform does not provide trading services. In this case, however, traders linked these newly appearing searchable pages to potential Robinhood exposure and bought the tokens on the chain.
JUGGERNAUT prices soared by more than 500%
JUGGERNAUT performed the most significantly, rising by more than 500% within an hour of the asset page being visible. The token later gave up some of its gains, but maintained a gain of about 380% during the reporting period. During the 24-hour trading period, JUGGERNUT's trading price fluctuated between US$0.0022 and US$0.0208, and trading volume surged by more than 3,000%, indicating a sharp increase in market activity.
Such percentage increases are amplified when small-cap tokens are traded in pools of limited liquidity. In this case, a buying wave could quickly push up the offer, while a large selling could lead to an equally rapid decline.
FROG followed closely by nearly 130%
FROG then rose nearly 130%, before its gain narrowed to about 100%. The token traded around $0.0106 during the rally and hit a record high of $0.0164. As activity around the token accelerated, its 24-hour trading volume increased by more than 1,300%.
The gains came as major cryptocurrency markets pulled back due to higher-than-expected U.S. producer price index (PPI) data. Data shows that the PPI inflation rate in the United States reaches 5.6%. While risky assets are under pressure, the trading activity of two tokens on Robinhood Chain has accelerated sharply.
Robinhood Chain Meme Coins attract speculative trading volume
Robinhood builds its Ethereum Layer-2 network based on tokenized stocks and other real-world assets, but the permission-free token creation mechanism also makes the chain an active venue for Meme Coins trading. According to reports, in the past 30 days, decentralized exchanges on Robinhood Chain handled $4.5 billion in transaction volume. By comparison, tokenized stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), commodities and U.S. Treasuries are worth $166.5 million on the network.
CASHCAT is an early example of this speculative activity. In July, CASHCAT's market value reached approximately $156 million, although the project is not officially linked to Robinhood Markets. The report found that CASHCAT has a fixed supply of 1 billion tokens and calls itself a "fan fiction with a ticker code." At one point, its market value was about 12 times the value of all tokenized real-world assets on Robinhood Chain at the time.
In the report provided, CASHCAT is the only Meme coin confirmed to be available for spot trading through Robinhood. In contrast, JUGGERNUT and FRONG can only trade through online channels and only obtain searchable pages in Robinhood's asset catalog.
Early activity also relied heavily on Noxa, a platform that supports more than 60,000 token deployments and controls approximately 75% of issuance along the chain. The platform stopped issuing new projects after incurring more than $12 million in fees, while CASHCAT prices fell more than 33%. Another investigation into Noxa platform failures found that it added one-way liquidity to the Uniswap V3 pool at the time of token issuance. Noxa stopped accepting new projects on July 11, two days later its website became unavailable.
U.S. users still face on-chain trading risks
Robinhood Markets is a U.S. listed financial services company, but the existence of a token on Robinhood Chain does not mean that it is an official product of Robinhood. A permission-free network allows external developers to deploy tokens without being created, owned, or endorsed by the company.
For U.S. users, the difference between the Robinhood asset page and the Robinhood Crypto Market determines where and how transactions occur. Buying unsupported tokens through a decentralized exchange may require the use of a self-managed wallet, paying network fees, and interacting with an on-chain liquidity pool, rather than standard Robinhood brokering orders.
Robinhood's disclosures of the crypto assets it supports do not automatically extend to unrelated tokens posted on its blockchain. Therefore, before conducting on-chain transactions, users must check the contract address, available liquidity and project ownership.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) treats digital assets as property for U.S. federal tax purposes. The sale, exchange or disposal of JUGGERNAUT or FRONG may result in reportable capital gains or losses for U.S. taxpayers, even if the transaction is conducted through a decentralized exchange rather than a centralized platform.
Robinhood Chain is also under pressure due to heavy trading activity. Demand involving tokenized assets recently led to a network outage that temporarily disrupted trading on the chain carrying stocks, ETFs, commodities and tokenized U.S. Treasury bonds.
