PEPE performed strongly in the latest memin rally
PEPE has become one of the strongest performing assets in the recent memin rally, with an increase of about 40% in the past week and briefly touching $0.00000515. On September 21, the token surged nearly 25% in a single trading session, pushing its market value past the US$2 billion mark. As the price of Bitcoin stands above $85,000, market risk appetite rebounds and funds accelerate the flow of high-risk crypto assets.
This upward trend marks a sharp reversal earlier this year. At that time, memein trading volumes plummeted as much as 80%.
PEPE breaks through key resistance
The most important technical development is that the price breaks through $0.0000458, which was previously the main structural resistance. Currently, PEPE is firmly above its 20-day, 50-day, 100-day and 200-day moving averages, with the next resistance area in the $0.0000515-$0.0000550 range. This is a significant improvement compared to the resistance level of approximately $0.000040 tracked by Coinpaper in April.
The return of risk appetite for memoin
There seems to be no single project-specific catalyst behind this rise. On the contrary, this wave of market conditions has been accompanied by a resurgence of risk appetite in the entire crypto market. Bitcoin recently hit an eight-month high, exceeding $85,000; meanwhile, Dogecoin and other speculative tokens also accelerated their gains as short sellers were forced to close their leveraged positions.
Historically, when memein sentiment warms up, PEPE has often reacted violently. During the previous overall rally in the sector, it surged by 60%, demonstrating the speed at which funds were rapidly rotating into the token.
However, interest from institutional investors is still insufficient. Canary Capital submitted an application for a spot PEPE ETF earlier this year, but the Memin investment products have not yet attracted demand comparable to Bitcoin or Ethereum funds.
Is PEPE overheating?
The biggest warning signal comes from the kinetic energy indicator. PEPE's four-hour Relative Strength Index (RSI) has recently reached about 82, well above the 70 level that is usually considered overbought. After hitting $0.00000515, profit-taking began to appear.
immediate support is around $0.0000431. If this level can be maintained, it will maintain the integrity of the breakthrough structure and provide bulls with the opportunity to challenge $0.0000550 again.
