The cooling of ETF funds accompanied Bitcoin prices falling below weekly highs. After breaking through $87,000 on Monday, BTC was trading at approximately $83,800 at the time of the report's citation. Compared with gains since mid-September, the pullback from recent highs remains moderate.

However, another market has regained its vitality: the derivatives market. Brian Huang, co-founder of Glider, pointed out that the number of open interest contracts in Bitcoin futures has returned to May levels. On the Hyperliquid platform alone, its open positions in BTC perpetual contracts amount to US$3.3 billion. Based on its analysis, a negative basis and a rise in open interest may indicate the establishment of new short positions.

The calendar itself is full this week. On Friday, Bitcoin options worth approximately $15.6 billion, representing nearly 182,000 bitcoins, expired on Deribit. ETFs, futures and options provide different market signals: ETFs continue to buy, but daily inflows slow; Bitcoin gives up some room for rebound; and leveraged funds return to derivatives markets. Thursday's $190.7 million remained a net inflow rather than capital flight. However, this is indeed a serious slowdown compared with Monday's nearly $1 billion.
