BTC Bitcoin trades around $84,200 after ETF inflows stalled
After a turbulent week, Bitcoin is trading around $84,200. Previously, the leading cryptocurrency climbed above $87,000, but then momentum waned. Despite a slight correction from recent highs, Bitcoin has gained about 3.8% over the past week.
ETF inflows stagnate after record growth
Market momentum changes as the flow of funds to U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF reverses. These ETFs have previously driven a strong rally. On September 25, these ETFs recorded a net outflow of $11.8 million, according to Farside. Although this is relatively small compared with the more than $2.2 billion that entered funds between September 21 and September 24, it marks the end of four consecutive days of strong inflows.
The disruption of ongoing inflows raises questions about whether Bitcoin can maintain or expand gains without continued institutional demand. Today, Bitcoin hit an intraday high of about $85,200, but the price continued to encounter significant resistance at mid-to-high levels of $85,000.
Technology shapes short-term prospects
Analysts pointed to huge selling pressure around $85,000, while the broader $85,000 to $87,300 range became a key resistance area. The recent high of $87,300 is a target long traders are trying to regain. Although the latest changes in ETF capital flows are noteworthy, they have not completely eroded the strong institutional interest that supports this round of gains. The main question for the future is whether Bitcoin can hold its ground as trading activity returns to normal levels and large-scale capital inflows fade.
If Bitcoin can maintain support above US$83,000 to US$84,000 and successfully stabilize itself above US$87,300, the path to US$90,000 may open up in the next transaction.
