HYPE Large holders of Hyperliquid (HYPE) transfer large quantities of tokens to centralized exchanges, causing concern about short-term selling pressure
Large holders of Hyperliquid native tokens are transferring huge amounts of money to centralized exchanges. As the token falls back from its recent highs, the market is increasingly questioning its short-term selling pressure.
More than US$21 million in tokens were transferred to the exchange in a single day
According to the online data analysis platform Lookonchain, on September 28, 177,518 HYPE tokens worth approximately US$16.1 million were deposited into OKX and Bybit at an unknown address (0xc745). Among them, 90,518 HYPEs were transferred to OKX, and another 87,000 HYPEs were transferred to Bybit.
It is worth noting that depositing tokens on an exchange does not mean selling them immediately. Although the deposit makes the token eligible for trading, it does not directly prove that the holder subsequently sold it. Still, such transfers are often seen among traders as a precursor to a potential sell-off.
Meanwhile, another wallet address marked by Lookonchain as associated with hysphere sold 62,869 HYPEs for approximately $5.78 million. Tracking data showed that the position made a profit of approximately US$2.13 million, and the tokens were purchased about a month ago. Taken together, the two tracked financial flows involved a total of 240,387 HYPEs worth approximately US$21.86 million.
Broader giant whale activity exacerbates supply concerns
