U.S. spot bitcoin ETF funds continue to flow out
Among U.S. -traded spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), the outflow of funds has not weakened. Against the background of continued fluctuations in the cryptocurrency market, related funds recorded a net outflow of US$244.1 million on the trading day of October 8. This allowed the negative capital flow of Bitcoin ETF to continue into the second trading day, and the cumulative net outflow in the past five days reached US$510.1 million. In particular, the huge redemption of Fidelity funds has once again aroused the market's attention to institutional investors 'short-term Bitcoin investment strategies.
Single-day outflow reached US$244 million
Although the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF market faced continued sales pressure, a net capital outflow of US$244.1 million was recorded on October 8. Following a large outflow of US$484.9 million in the previous trading day, the continuation of negative capital flows reflects investors 'caution towards risky assets. Looking back over the past five trading days, Bitcoin ETF has a total net outflow of US$510.1 million. This development has exacerbated market assessments of weakening institutional demand in the short term.
According to the data of various funds, the largest outflow is the Fidelity Smart Origins Bitcoin Fund (FBTC). Fidelity's spot Bitcoin ETF recorded a net outflow of $197.1 million in a single trading day. During the same period, the ARK21 Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) and Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB) recorded net outflows of US$20.3 million and US$17.7 million respectively. In particular, the high changes in Fidelity Fund constitute part of the outflow of funds from the Bitcoin ETF market.
Cumulative net inflows of spot bitcoin ETFs exceeded US$57 billion
Despite short-term outflows, the overall performance of the U.S. spot bitcoin ETF has remained strong since its launch. Data shows that the cumulative net capital inflows of these funds have reached US$57.157 billion. This data shows that despite the recent negative capital flows, a large amount of capital is still being directed to the Bitcoin ETF sector in the long run. However, if new outflows persist, it may lead to a decrease in total net inflows and weaken market sensitivity.
The continuous outflow of funds from spot Bitcoin ETFs is being closely watched by the market for short-term price fluctuations. In particular, institutional investors continue to withdraw funds from funds, which is seen as one of the factors that may increase the selling pressure of Bitcoin (BTC). Conversely, if ETF inflows turn positive again, it will help restore market confidence and enhance demand for Bitcoin. In the coming trading day, investors will look for new signals on the direction of the Bitcoin market by tracking the funds of Fidelity, BlackRock and other large funds.
Summary
The U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF experienced a net outflow of US$510.1 million in the past five trading days, once again highlighting the importance of institutional capital flows in the crypto market. Among them, the outflow of US$197.1 million from Fidelity Fund was particularly eye-catching, while the cumulative net inflow remained above US$57 billion, showing the sustainability of long-term capital accumulation. In the future, the inflow and outflow of funds from Bitcoin ETFs will continue to be an important indicator of BTC prices and overall market sentiment.
