Strategy shifted capital to STRC share buybacks and did not increase its holdings in Bitcoin last week.

Strategy did not make any Bitcoin purchases last week, but instead chose to use funds for its preferred share repurchase program. According to a Form 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the company spent approximately $139.3 million to repurchase 1.42 million shares of $STRC preferred stock between September 8 and September 13.

The company said the repurchase was funded through its U.S. dollar cash reserves. The move marks the second consecutive week that the company has not purchased Bitcoin. Last week, Strategy neither bought nor sold any bitcoins, leaving its total position unchanged at 845,050 BTC, worth approximately US$65.7 billion at current prices.

The situation was the same the previous week: the company stayed away from its Bitcoin position and instead bought back $176.3 million worth of STRC preferred stock, while doubling its digital credit securities repurchase authorization to $2 billion.

Balance Sheet and Bitcoin Positions

As of September 13, 2026, Strategy held 845,050 $BTC and approximately US$6.4 billion in dollar-denominated cash reserves. As of September 14, its USD Reserve and USD Cash balances were US$5.1 billion and US$1.3 billion respectively.

Strategy's positions are equivalent to more than 4% of the maximum total of 21 million bitcoins. Its total acquisition cost is US$63.7 billion, the average buying price is US$75,412 per piece, and at current prices, the book floating profit is approximately US$2 billion.

Strategy last purchased $BTC in late August. At that time, the company purchased 4,603 BTC units for US$369.7 million, bringing the total position to 845,050 units, with a total value of more than US$66 billion at the time.

Taken together, recent decisions suggest that Strategy currently believes that buying back $STRC shares is worth more than increasing its holdings in Bitcoin or common shares. Although the company remains the world's largest holder of enterprise-level bitcoin, its failure to make purchases for two consecutive weeks will attract the attention of investors who are closely watching the pace of its accumulation.
